Acer Predator Triton 900 laptop is the company latest gaming laptop. It comes with a unique design in which the display sits featuring a 17.3-inch 4K IPS LCD display that floats above the chassis.
The Triton 900 weighs 9-pound which is entirely thanks to the entirely metal chassis (the lid and deck are aluminum, the bottom is magnesium alloy). Despite this, quite bulky execution, the laptop is actually very thin for a full-blown (non-Max-Q-design) gaming device – 23.9 mm in profile.
The G-Sync screen enables the laptop to flip in almost 180 degrees. it can be pushed right behind the RGB keyboard, flip the screen into laptop mode or laid flat into a table resembling the Surface Studio.
The IPS panel in the Triton 900 does cover 100% Adobe RGB hence, the bright screen contrast.
On the left side of the laptop is a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, separate headphone and microphone jacks and USB 2.0 port that swivels out and has a very large cover that fits into the side panel.
On the right side are a Noble lock slot, Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Type 1 and an Ethernet port. There are more ports on the back: a DisplayPort, HDMI and the power jack.
For gaming, the Triton packs an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, which makes for a powerful gaming experience.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 is an high-end laptop graphics card based on the TU104 chip with 2,944 shaders and 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Compared to the desktop variant, the GPU is clocked lower. These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.
The Acer Predator Triton 900 laptop is powered by a Intel Core i7-9750H CPU which is based on the LG1156 Core i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
The chipset Integrates six processor cores clocked at 2.6 – 4.5 GHz (4 GHz with 6 cores) that support HyperThreading. The On Coffee Lake architecture based processor improved 14nm process (14nm++).

What’s in the box?
First of all – this box is both huge and heavy. Opening it up reveals another two boxes – one containing the enormous 330W power brick, while the other one is where the Triton 900 is situated.
