LG Electronic has revealed a rollable TV, which can be rolled away to be stored out of sight at the click of a button to “liberate users from the limitations of the wall”. This LG signature OLED Tv R9 beats all the televisions in the market, due to its flexibility.

LG Rollable OLED TV R65 Review

The company revealed the 65-inch Signature OLED TV R at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES ) 2019. This is one of the biggest trade show of the year 2019. A year has passed since we saw the world’s first rollable TV prototype, finally, the glorious LG device has arrived. The elegant LG Signature R9 Rollable 4K OLED TV is for realities shows. It is a show to look forward to in the 2019 tvs.

The R-Series is harness OLED’s natural flexibility TV with great built and additional features. It has a built base that acts both as a storage facility, unfurling mechanism and, also, a sound system all in one.

The base is slightly longer than 60 inches across but half that size vertically. That’s enough storage space for the screen, apparently, as well as the 4.2 Atmos sound system. This LG rollable Tv base comes in white colour which is the only said available one.

The LG Signature OLED TV isn’t just a 65-inch rollable TV, it’s also a piece of furniture. When completely retracted, the smart TV lives inside a large aluminium stand. It stretches out the full width of the TV, so you’ll need a bit of space to accommodate it.

You can fix the OLED screen in three different positions: Full view, Line View and Zero View. Full View is when the TV’s fully extended and you’re using all 65 inches. Line View drops the TV so there’s just a strip of OLED screen visible. In this position you can navigate through a handful of different displays. you can interact with various features, including mood, music, frame, clock, and home dashboard displays.

According to LG, the 65-inch screen is held in its place with brackets at the base. This prevents it from falling when upright. Around the back, is an HDMI 2.1 ports which will support 4K 120 playback. The HDMI 2.1 also includes support for HFR content when that arrives sometime down the road.

The LG rollable R65 TV is just as beautiful as LG’s screens from last year. Though, it comes in a change technology but the panel is still the same with massive upgrading.

This LG display TV gives the best experience on the screen with its 4K HDR OLED display panel.

Inside the 65R9 is the next-generation of Alpha a9 processors. It allows for deep learning of picture quality and an ambient light detection feature. This feature can adjust the PQ curve of a TV depending on the ambient brightness in the room. Thatis, when it’s daytime the TV will recognize the additional light and raise its max brightness to compensate, and reverse that process at night.

In the sound department, LG introduced a new AI Sound mode to the TV. This mode brings about upgrades in the forward-firing speaker’s audio performance by virtualizing it for a larger space.

All Sounds relates to how the TV treats a standard stereo signal. The set uses special audio processing to turn it into virtual 5.1 surround sound and it can also alter the sound depending on the type of content coupled with the 100-watt dolby atmos speaker.

All Picture are in two-step process whereby the TV consults an internal database of content and uses it to compare to the incoming signal before it decides how best to process the picture.

The second step involves a new ambient light sensor. The sensor can adjusts the TV’s tone mapping curve in real-time based on your room lighting. If you’re watching SDR content, the TV adjusts the overall panel brightness. However, for HDR embedded content, the TV takes greater control over how the OLED panel displays it’s content.

The last feature is part of LG’s new WebOS 4.5 smart platform. This feature makes its debut on all of the 2019 LG UHD TVs. The Amazon button on the remote now doubles as a way to access Alexa. A short press brings up Amazon Prime Video while a long press brings up Amazon’s virtual assistant. That doesn’t mean Google Assistant or LG’s own ThinQ smart platform are out of a job. Other smart platforms still exist and can be accessed by pressing the press-to-talk button on the LG Smart Remote.

At one time, seeing a TV appear out of thin air would’ve been something straight out of a magic act. LG’s new rollable Signature OLED TV R Series isn’t magic, it’s engineering and display technology just risen to be higher level. Hence, the South Korean electronics maker as ones again led into the new era of technology with its latest innovation. This roll up TV is another dimension in smart tvs innovation

Price and Availability

According to LG, the Signature Series R9 will be available in the second-half of 2019 and exclusively in a 65-inch version, though that could change by next year.

LG also couldn’t provide a price for the 65R9 which actually isn’t that uncommon at CES . Rarely do manufacturers announce a price and release date the day they announce a new product. The fact that this TV uses a mechanical system new to the market, show its definitely not going to be cheap.
