Oppo has released images of a new smartphone display design called the “Waterfall Screen.”
Oppo has grown to become one of the most innovative smartphone brands in the world. hence the introduction of this new smartphone is not so surprising but more appealing.
The Oppo VP Brian Shen revealed the prototype phone with a new Full-Display 2.0 screen technology. A dual-edge display that is extremely curved on the sides for a high screen-to-body ratio.
The images show that the smartphone offers a very high screen-to-body ratio thanks to its tall aspect ratio display with the left and right edges curve at 88-degree.
At first glance, the Oppo Waterfall screen is an almost bezels-free device which offer a screen space of nearly 100 percent as it is equipped with ultrathin and symmetrical upper and lower bezels.
Although, the Oppo waterfall screen device is not the first of its kind from Oppo, with the launch of the Find X flagship phone last year which sport similar screen with the waterfall, this new device however, comes with a more appealing and functional display.
According to the leak, the smartphone could be offering a tall aspect ratio of 21:9 like the Xperia 1 but there is certainty for a slim and and firm body.
The top of the phone seems to have no notch or hole-punch cutout, hence, there is probability it will be equipped with OPPO’s under-display camera technology that was showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 Shanghai tech trade show in June.
Since the Chinese manufacturer has started teasing the new OPPO phone with Waterfall Screen early in the second half of the year, the company may debut it in the next few months. As of this writing, there is no other information available on its specifications.
